The Change of Season

Squashes!!!

They have arrived at the market. I will be purchasing some acorn squash and cooking it this weekend. Does anyone have a great recipe that they would like to share?
I like to eat a variety of squash , but my favorites are Acorn and Butternut. For those of you that are not familiar with Acorn squash, it resembles an acorn! It is small and takes less time to cook than the others and when cut in half serves two people easily. To bring out the flavor, just add a sprinkle of organic cinnamon when done baking and enjoy!

What seasonal vegetables are you looking forward to?
Looking forward to reading your comments below.

Make An Investment in Yourself

Make every day the first day of the rest of your life. Spend some time doing something that is just for you! First of all, decide how much time to allow, whether it be 15 minutes or an hour.
Just turn off your cell phone, tv, and anything that might tempt you towards distraction.
Now turn on your favorite music... or not. Silence can be very soothing to the soul as well.
Make this YOUR time--time to read that book, tend to the garden, or give yourself an all natural facial. RECIPE BELOW!

Get in the habit of investing in yourself, its the best investment you'll make.

All Natural Facial

2 tsps. brown sugar (I use Sucanat - its all natural)
1 tsp of sunflower oil (or almond oil)
a few drops of lemon juice

Combine all the ingredients and gently massage into the face for a few minutes (using circular motion). Rinse off with warm water.

Have a wonderful healthy day!

Here's to your health!

Want to know more about living a healthy lifestyle? You are at the right place. My kitchen became my medicine cabinet. I cleaned out all the junk food and replaced it with organic healthy. Thus began my journey to healing. I have CLL and was diagnosed a little over 10 years ago and through lifestyle changes, managed to put my disease into remission. No chemo, that's right, no chemo.

Check back soon, as I will be posting more info regarding my journey.....
